My trip to Canada, by Caroline

All the pictures can be found at the end of the October picture gallery.

Like every 2 or 3 years since 1990 I went to see my sister Mieke in Oakville, Ontario. This year I left on October 11th and arrived the day after Thanksgiving Day, just in time to finish the leftover turkey with the cranberry sauce! I was lucky there was some pumpkin pie left too!

Csotars

It's always so good to see the Canadian family and friends again and than we did a lot of things : we saw the musical "les miserable" in the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, in the English version of course, it was great !
We went also to the castle of Casa Loma to see an exhibition of beautiful quilts, and after that we had dinner with Marika and her friend Patricia in a Greek restaurant.
One morning, at 8 o'clock we took the train to Quebec City, about 800 km from Toronto. With a stop in Montreal we made it in about 10 hours !

Chambre d'hôtes And here we were in the old center of Quebec City, our bed and breakfast was in one of the oldest houses, rue Saint Ursule.
We stayed for two and half days, walked a lot around, and also of course on the side of the St Lawrence River, on the wooden sidewalk, la terrasse Dufferin, near the chateau Frontenac. On the end there is a 300 steps stairs to go up and have a wonderful look on the river and the fields of Abraham. The second day we made a little cruise aboard of the "Louis Jolliet" on the St. Lawrence river, near to the Montmorency Falls. But is was raining that day ...
Château Frontenac We found a shelter in the beautiful and modern "musée de la civilisation", we had no time to see everything but we saw a very interesting exhibition about Inuits.
A last visit to the basilique-cathedral Notre Dame de Québec and than it was time to go back to Oakville.
Time flies ... Good-bye to the nice colors of the Canadian fall, bye Canada, I'll come back soon.

Toronto, Oakville and Quebec-city, October 2005.

Picture galleries

A new concept on Cehenne Family : picture galleries. With the bought of a brand new digital camera I will be able to share as many as possible of the pictures loaded in it. I still wish you to send your pictures in order to publish them online ...
There will be no more need for click on the picture to have a bigger view.
On the other hand the formula "If you want a processed picture copy or a printable resolution file, please Email me." is always accurate. I'm waiting for your orders.

Tips : open the gallery on a new thumb (Netscape) or in a new window (Microsoft Explorer) because the only link able to bring you back on Cehenne Family leeds to the French frontpage of Cehenne Family. (This is just a comfort tip).
Clik on the Cehenne family logo and you'll be right back on the french frontpage of Cehenne Family

In the future I'll try to stick on the following rules :
  • One gallery for one author, one theme or one month.
  • A monthly gallery like that if the month is over that means that no more new pictures will occurs in that gallery.
  • In the future (maybe) there will be a dedicated page for galleries ...

Since August 2005 : I ad time to time old pictures in dedicated galleries (pictures from before the digital camera). Most of the time those galleries deals with a specific theme (a trip or a special event). Watch carefully their coming. They'll be direct linked on the front page but for a limited amount of time. Then they'll remain in the list bellow.
The actual galleries :

Compiègne, July 2005 (and constantly updating).

The meeting for some of us was forecast that Saturday in "La roseraie" park in Chambéry. It's a very nice place to make "the official" wedding pictures. In between two showers (that's how the day went, we've never been wet !) we had had enough time to make those few pictures :

Marielle and Laurent Laurent family
Marielle and Laurent Laurent family
Marielle family Marielle parents
Marielle family Marielle parents
Then was the first official ceremony in Planaise townhouse and then ...

église de Montmélian
The coming out of the church ceremony in Planaise.

And the big "fiesta" in "la gentilhommière" :

le gâteau
the wedding cake
Zoé1
and a finish (we'd better say the bal opening) very romantic
