![]() Francke-Jacobs family Here are a few links (in complement of the who's who section) in order to make a brief review of the Leusden Francke-Jacobs family activities. So Heleen is practitioner in the WBO organization. The bio-shop is part of the Natuur Winkel brand (the site is in Dutch only). The shop is this one exactly (to get it nicer : from the Natuur Winkel main page, chose Vestigingen, than on the map click on Utrecht district, it's the first shop of the list : Arnhemseweg). Children : Joren is student in landscape architecture. Precisely he is in a Wageningen university courses program. It sound's quite different than France, where all the architects (landscape or others) are DPLG (means they have a state diploma and it includes specific juridical responsibilities and ability to sign some official papers, it's a bit complicated and it has an historic background). They study in specific schools (it is not university studies). Therefore in France the landscape specialization studies are more than less limited to the conception of grounds and garden and the avenues ornaments in towns (I'm almost not caricaturing). Joren university site as far as I understand seems to present a profession far more open, with diversity and a wide range of skills and domains. Maike is going to study ecology and society in Utrecht (maybe will she later on precise us her university and courses program ?). Auke is in 5th class high school and he loves theatre acting. Francke family S.J. Francke holds a web site with the whole Francke genealogy. You will see the oldest apparition of Francke name, in Nederland. The site is in Dutch (but it's not too difficult for a navigation in the genealogy pages). There is two or three explanation pages in English. Genealogie familie Francke Muns family Maybe one day someone will explain us the complicated genealogy from the Muns family branch ... By the way, Stella Muns had transmit a link towards this photos gallery. These are the pictures taken by her son Thomas while he was a student in Berkeley for a year. Have a nice journey ... ![]() Attention : this text and the links have not been refreshed since January 2004. I haven't tried since a while but I guess most of the links must be obsolete The story begin with a weird mention in a strange text dealing about a hazy artistic theory (Neoism). Is this something to do with our Kees ? The Dutch Spaniard ? http://www.thing.de/projekte/7:9%23/ack_neoism.html ... looks like yes ... The frame of that text is from there to there on the web, and appears clearly here : http://www.geocities.com/johnheldjr/AlAckermanInterview.html. It's Al Ackerman interview (apparently a mail-art "pope"), talking about is meeting with Kees in the 70's, at Portland, Oregon. There we go again with the same frame (each time it is not exactly the same text word to word, but the same story telling) in the issue number 38 (October 1989) of the Photo Static revue : PhotoSTATIC magazine issue #38 (take care it's a big 2000 Ko .pdf file). Let's go forehead with a list of its name and art piece traces. There is also a lots of book, exhibitions and other artistic events participations. Ray Johnson art mail project participation. In the www.artpool.hu web site. A Japanese page from the Yokohama modern art museum : Yokohama Civic Art Galery. In the middle of a page filled with weird types my browser can't display (Japanese language certainly) there is a list of artists names noted : Cees Francke, John M. Benner, Gasowski, Tom Morrissey, Wm Bryancank, Mark Williams, John Malvet. Is there a Kees art piece in this museum ? IUOMA web site (International Union of Mail Artists ). Kees is there in a glossary dealing with the mail art movement : SPUZ is his a.k.a. This site is one of the possible entrance for the wide mail-art world. In a web site dealing with "avant-garde" poetry and writing, you can find Kees mentioned as participating for a book about non-object (immaterial) art. The book title is "From Representation to Action". Mentioned as taking part a mail-art exhibition « PROFESSOR ZEEMAN GOES CREA 2 1990 - 1994 » which took place in Zierikzee, Middelburg, Sittard, Eeklo (Belgium) and Waalwijk. : http://people.zeelandnet.nl/everarts/subs/sub22.htm. By the past I found a Kees picture, participating the Mail-art Decentralized World Congress in 1986, that disappeared (happens frequently on Internet). A friend put one on that message board page (search a bit !). Kees name appears in a lengthy Birger Jesh Email interview, in which English mixes with German ... Kees had use Nenad Bogdanovic (who is a Man Gallery : an artist using his body as an art gallery). The web site of Pieter Zeeman gallery at Zierikzee. You can see 2 Kees art pieces. A Darlene Altschul call for participation for the Sluis exhibition has been made and relayed in some mail-art mailing-lists. The result is a little brochure, you can find in Sluis exhibit. Found in : www.plexus.org and forum.onecenter.com. For ending, there is relations with experimental music in his archives. N9 (Eeklo cultural center) writes about those archives pieces that have been exposed. N9 is the institution that have the most put Kees's art on exhibit. Especially these last days after Kees death. Kees even made the villa N9 decoration at Molenstraat, Eeklo (Belgium). Some articles deals about those exhibits. We are actually translating that text and maybe (as some musician names cited sounds to me) will I go further in my researches towards that experimental music direction Always on the N9 site, coming soon, an exhibit of his virtual sculptures (showed at Sluis) the 5th or April, Villa N9 at Eeklo. | |||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Author : ![]() ![]() Music : I don't read Les Inrockuptibles anymore (French music magazine). It stinks 'cos of too much commercials in it. POP news. Sorry it is in French either Pitchforkmedia. It is in English ! Radio broadcasting : The best spoken broadcasting in the world is a French show of an hour everyday on the French national radio : Là-bas, si j'y suis. Sorry it is in French. Examples of some subjects : "Israel at the bottom of the wall" (recent), or "Huntsville (Texas) the death penalty business", or "on the road to Bagdad (Florida)" just before the second Gulf war begun, or "God bless America : relief to Enron". Many less "political" subjects about poverty, mental disabled, history, stories about unknown people, etc ... A small radio I'm listening to : Graf'hit. 100% commercials free. For music broadcasting I also try to stick to these two shows : C'est Lenoir on France Inter (French public radio) and Morning Becomes Eclectic sessions on KCRW the Santa Monica college radio (US). Ideas (on how the world goes) : Attac organization. The magazine le Monde Diplomatique. There is an English section. Against add attacked : Adbusters. A Canadian based organization !
